Iran film 'Qasr-e Shirin' en route to Fajr filmfest

Shooting for feature film 'Qasr-e Shirin' (Palace of Shirin) has kicked off, gearing up to apply for the 37th Fajr Film Festival in Iran.

Shooting stage for Reza Mirkarimi's latest cinematic offering 'Qasr-e Shirin' has been kicked off from mid-October in the Iranian city of Yasouj and has now reached half way through.

Mohammad Davoudi and Mohsen Qaraei have written the screenplay based on a plot by Mirkarimi.

The project is to wrap up to fill application for the 37th edition of the Fajr Film Festival in Iran.

'Qasr-e Shirin' enjoys a string of cast members, notable among which is Hamed Behdad who is a familiar face to ifilm spectators owing to 'The Fourth Child', 'The Third Day', 'Free Fall', 'The Orange Suit', and 'My Sky'.

Mirkarimi's last film ‘Daughter’ was nominated for the Best Film and the Best Director awards at the 34th edition of the Fajr Film Festival.

The drama also succeeded to bag awards for best film and best actor at the 38th Moscow International Film Festival in 2016.  

The plot for the social drama 'Qasr-e Shirin' is yet to be revealed.
